{"id":76,"date":"2017-05-15T11:23:10","date_gmt":"2017-05-15T11:23:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.microvistatech.com\/blog\/manmohan-singh-introduced-gst-reform-says-congress\/"},"modified":"2023-06-21T09:51:42","modified_gmt":"2023-06-21T09:51:42","slug":"manmohan-singh-introduced-gst-reform-says-congress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.microvistatech.com\/blog\/manmohan-singh-introduced-gst-reform-says-congress\/","title":{"rendered":"Manmohan Singh introduced GST reform, says Congress"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5>PORVORIM: While supporting the Goa Goods and Service Tax (GST) bill, 2017, Congress MLAs gave credit to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for getting GST bill.<\/h5>\n<p class=\"kl-iconbox__desc\" align=\"justify\">During the discussion on GST bill, Navelim MLA Luizinho Faleiro said he support the iconic economic reform by the government of India. &#8220;In fact, in the 2006-2007 budget, this reform was introduced by the UPA government led by Singh and the main objective is to cut inflation and provide benefit to the common man,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"kl-iconbox__desc\" align=\"justify\">He also said that the reform should have been passed 10 years ago, but the then NDA, for their own political reasons, rejected it. &#8220;The reforms could have earned the state Rs 20 lakh crore,&#8221; he added<\/p>\n<p class=\"kl-iconbox__desc\" align=\"justify\">Poriem MLA Pratapsingh Rane said that there are around 176 sections to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microvistatech.com\/gst-software\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GST<\/a> bill and &#8220;I doubt members have read it&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"kl-iconbox__desc\" align=\"justify\">He added that one clause surprises him which gives unlimited powers to any officer to enter premises and search if they suspect anything improper.<\/p>\n<p class=\"kl-iconbox__desc\" align=\"justify\">Ponda MLA Ravi Naik asked what would happened to entertainment tax collected from casinos once GST is implemented.
